Karin A. Wickwire, DNP, AG-ACNP, SANE-A, SANE-P

 

Karin Wickwire is the forensic coordinator at UPMC Hamot and is the nurse practitioner in the Erie CARE Clinic as well as with Critical Care Medicine at UPMC Hamot.  The CARE clinic was opened in January of this year and serves pediatric patients who are victims of suspected abuse or neglect.  The Forensic Team at UPMC Hamot provides 24/7 care to patients of any age who have been sexually assaulted, are in an intimate partner violence situation or patients of any age who have been physically abused.  

 

Karin has her Doctorate of Nursing Practice as an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.  She has a Bachelor of Nursing from Gannon University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Allegheny College.  She also is certified as an adult/adolescent and pediatric SANE through the IAFN.

 

Karin lives in the suburbs of Erie with her husband and 2 cats.  For self-care, Karin enjoys any outdoor activities, baking, sewing, reading, and playing and enjoying music.
