Duquesne School of Nursing Received a HRSA Grant for the ANE-SANE Program to Train and Certify RNs, APRNs, and FNs as Practicing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.
The purpose of this grant is to provide advanced nurse education to increase the number of Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Forensic Nurses (FNs) who are trained and certified as sexual assault nurse examiners (SANEs) in communities on a local, regional and/or state level, focusing on increasing service to rural and medically underserved areas (MUAs). As a recipient of this grant, Duquesne University School of Nursing is able to offer scholarship opportunities to nurses interested in pursuing IAFN SANE certification.
The fall 2019 Duquesne University School of Nursing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Online Training Program is set to begin on Monday, October 7, 2019. We now offer a grant funded track for nurses who work in facilities where they can complete their clinicals.
