The Forensic Examiner Program at WellSpan Health York Hospital provides forensic medical evaluations for patients that have been impacted by interpersonal violence including sexual assault across the age range, domestic violence, pediatric physical abuse, elder abuse and human trafficking.  The program strives to develop expertise in our staff by employing nurses full time in the forensic nurse role.  Providing acute examinations in the Emergency Department at WellSpan York Hospital and non-acute examinations at two of our counties independent non-profit Children’s Advocacy Centers increase accessibility to individuals in need of forensic medical care in the communities we serve.  The program works closely with experts in forensic medical care in many different disciplines to exceed the expectations of the populations we serve.
